2025 Teacher Workshop

Two training workshops are offered this Fall.  One is a virtual training on a Wednesday October 22 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.  The second is a hands-on training on Saturday November 8, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
 
Session 1 – Zoom – Wednesday, October 22, 4:30 pm-6:00 pm
Topics will include an overview of the Salmon in the Schools program, salmon life cycle and habitat requirements, features of Seattle watersheds, and lesson planning.  To get the Zoom link, please register (link below).
 
Session 2 – in person – Saturday, October 26, 9:30 am-2:30 pm (30-minute lunch break at about noon) at Bailey-Gatzert Elementary School (1301 E. Yesler Way,).  This hands-on session will focus on equipment, tank set-up, maintenance, and water testing, plus explore curriculum connections.

Up to 6 clock hours will be available.

These trainings are required for all teachers new to the Salmon in Schools program, and for any volunteers that will be recruited to assist in the school to help with tank maintenance.  
 
These training can also be a refresher for any veteran teacher that would like to attend.
